and right in its heart, the emperor town Bad
Ischl, you can find this charming pastry shop. In the year 1832 it
was founded by Johann Zauner, a wine dealer and confectioner.
Johann Nestroy liked the pastries at Zauner and forgot to pay, till
he succumbed to the charm of the waitress. Here in the pastry shop
Zauner the gugelhupf is baked using the original recipe from
Katharina Schratt, since she ordered it for the daily break with
the emperor, just as a reinsurance should her own fail.
Troughout all the external changes the pastry shop Zauner
maintained its noble elegance, and its confectioners maintained
their intention for perfection and pleasure on creativity.
